My headboard was an old door I found at an antique store, and my husband framed it, then I painted and distressed it. I found my bedding on sale for 85% off at Dillard's. I was skipping with joy! I replaced the lamps by my bed with something much more "beachy".
Before
I removed the flower print from this frame and replaced it with vinyl wall art words.
Before
I painted my dresser with a light cream color. I love this dresser! My sister-in-law gave it to me years ago. The "bones" of this dresser are beautiful!
Changing the window treatments made all the difference! I added bamboo blinds from Home Depot, and sheer drapery panels from Target. It just gave the room such an airy and soft glow.
I found this bench at T.J. Maxx. Don't you just love that store?

Your bedroom is beautiful! Yes...where would we be without T.J. Maxx, Marshall's and Homegood's! I love the vignette on top of the chest...well the chest too for that matter.
You have created what seems to be a perfect retreat to retire in after a hectic day!

Just beautiful!! I love it. It does feel nice and airy and fresh. I also like the bamboo window blinds against the white sheers. Such a nice contrast. Great job!

That headboard is exactly the look I want for a door I just picked up. Do you have any details on what trim was used to frame it out? and is it attached to the bed or did you hang it on the wall?
Love your pretty room!!
Hello Anne,
I wish I would of taken photos when my husband was making this headboard. But, he made it a few years ago, before I started blogging. As far as how it is attached, it is attached to the frame, not the wall. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Your bedroom is really pretty! I can't believe you found your bedding for such a great price. Good job! :)

What a fabulous makeover! Love your headboard. I have one out in the garage waiting to be finished. Thanx for partying at my place !
It all looks so beautiful! Your bedding is amazing! Nice find at 85% off! We are slowly but surely removing all of the popcorn from our ceilings! Only 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom to go! But, we take the easy way out and hire it done! Even then, it is still a huge mess!
It's just beautiful! I love the headboard and all of the little touches. You've got great style. Lisa~
This is really pretty.

Simply beautiful bedroom. Loving the door headboard.
Your bedroom is my newest inspiration for my bedroom! It's so peaceful and calming. I am pinning it to my Master Bedroom Inspiration board right now! Since you are a designer, would you please look at my dresser (it's #91 on Miss Mustard Seed's FFF) and offer a suggestion on what color to paint it? I would appreciate it! Thanks!
YUMMY... I actually bought a door several years ago that I had planned to use when we finally upgraded to a king size bed... perfect plan run amuck. Our room works best with the bed in front of the windows so a door just wasn't going to work... darn... I love the look.
Blessings,
Spencer
Your bedroom is absolutely gorgeous. I love the sign above the bed. Such a peaceful and soothing retreat.
I just found your website today (linked from "Being Brook"). Your whole house is lovely, especially your bedroom. Can you tell me what color you painted the walls in your bedroom?

The king size bed is very comfortable. It is so comfortable to lie down and for sure you will have a sweet dreams lying with this kind of bed.King size bed is comfortable and best solution getting a full night's rest. Aside from that, it ergonomic and keeps your body in proper alignment when you are resting or sleeping.

I do maps, sketches and plot out where all the residents live. I plan nearby towns and landscape. I often cheat and mimic a town I know and sometimes just set my stories in real places. One of those international bloggers so I won't enter the comp.
